Intermediate Level 01 "Swim like a Dolphin"
Main Outcomes - Intro to ISA Key Sequence 2: Kick-Float-Kick (Guided), diving and jumps, intro to underwater skills.
Overview
Having mastered the ISA’s Key Sequence 1 “Rollback-and-Float” on the Beginner level, your child is improving their technique of kicking their legs in order to move through the water. They then combine swimming on their front with turning to float when they need to rest and breathe. Your child will begin to put these skills together with the instructor’s guidance, moving into ISA’s Key Sequence 2: ‘Kick-Float-Kick’ (Guided).
What your child will learn
Kicking action
Your child will work on their leg kicking action to build strength and independence.
Building stamina
Your child will begin to swim longer distances with their Instructor’s guidance.
Underwater skills
Your child will love learning how to have fun through diving and jumps respecting the safety skills.
Becoming an independent swimmer
As your child grows in age, confidence and ability they will also be introduced to fun activities such as jumping in and coming up to float (Rollback-and-Float), swimming underwater, and diving for sinkers. At the end of this stage your little dolphin will be super confident, ready to move onto the next level and start swimming like a shark!
We welcome parents in
We do encourage parents to get into the water with us at least once before going on holiday or taking your child swimming outside of lessons so that you can be taught the best way to support your child’s learning in the water.
We don't leave anyone behind
While our programme is suitable for all ages and abilities, lessons will progress at a pace suitable for each individual. Lessons may look slightly different as we cater to your child’s developmental age and needs. Instructors continue to work with breath control and body alignment, whilst encouraging your child to swim with their face down in the water.
How long it will take for my child to learn?
How quickly your child moves through the levels depends on your child’s developmental age and abilities. Each individual will progress at their own rate.
Babies up to 12 months
Based on one lesson per week, you can expect to see your child performing this sequence in an average of two to four terms.
Toddlers up to 3 year old
Based on one lesson per week, you can expect to see your child performing this sequence in as little as two to three terms.
Children aged 3 years +
Based on one lesson per week, you can expect to see your child performing this sequence in as little as one or two terms.
*Please note: this is an approximation based on regular attendance of one short 10-minute lesson per week, depending on the child and your consistency in attendance. You can tailor your child’s lesson length following a 10-minute slot increment charge; e.g. 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes etc. In a 20 or 30 minute 1:1 ISA lesson, there is more time for building up a relationship with the instructor, play and accelerated learning.

Silvia & Miguel,
Words cannot express my gratitude to the both of you for the excellent work you have done for Noah.
He changed from a boy who hated water on his face and eyes to one who can swim powerfully across the pool, with different techniques in his repertoire and with confidence too.
Thank you so much for your patience and firmness.

ISA,
This programme is a very valuable service to have, especially for children of special needs that can not take part in mainstream swimming classes. The level of immersion works really well in combination with the care and sensitivity they have for all the children. This method of teaching shows that anyone can learn to swim, no matter what age or ability!

We are absolutely thrilled with JJ's progress with ISA!
JJ had done a lot of the programme while in Australia but we couldn't find a good swimming school in the UK. So it had been 2 years since his last lesson when he started with ISA. He was very scared of water at the beginning and he used to cling to his instructor... Seeing him, after just one term, floating, swimming and looking forwards to coming to swimming lessons is remarkable! Thank you!

To the ISA team,
William and Finn were camping with their dad in Cornwall last weekend. Chris just texted to say that William was climbing on some rocks by the water, slipped and accidentally, he fell into the water. Immediately rolled onto his back, starfish! then, onto his front and kicked to the shore. He is ok.
What would we do without ISA?

We have been with ISA over a year now and cannot praise the teachers enough!
Our 2 boys have had lessons with all four different teachers who have all been equally caring and firm when required. The technique itself is also very unique with the emphasis on floating early on which gives parents the peace of mind around pools on holidays. The boys now love coming back for lessons and are very comfortable in the water.

We are very happy!
It is always easy to speak to the team with questions, concerns or suggestions and we always get a quick and suitable response...! I was very impressed watching the instructor in-house training to understand more details about your approach.
