We are so excited to welcome you all back to the pool!

A few things will need to be adapted for us to conform to the rules for this “new normal”. Please, remember that we are not the venue owners and we have to follow the rules implemented by both the Government and the school/nursery within their Covid-19 response plans. We want to keep all our staff and swimmers safe when we return to the water. This is why we ask that parents and carers work together with us and follow our guidelines set up and the following tips.

1- Talk to your child.

Remember children see things from a different point of view. What looks like a small change to you may feel big to them. Acknowledge any of your child’s concerns about returning to their lessons, but don’t make a big deal about them. Consider if the teachers should be aware of those concerns to tailor the lesson according to your child’s feelings and emotions. Focus on the positives!

2- Arrive “Ready to swim”

Bring your child ready for their lesson with their swimming costume underneath their clothes, meaning it is quicker and easier to get ready for the lesson. You can practice this at home before you return to your swimming lessons. Maybe even “go swimming” in the bath to make the practice fun!

3- Be aware that the lessons might look different.

It might be the environment, it might be the lessons that have changed. Only one parent per child will be allowed inside either of our venues. It’s important to make sure your child is aware of this and is comfortable with who will be taking them to their lesson.

4- Following your child’s progress.

We will all have to acknowledge that it has been a long time since the last lesson, so it is likely there will be a lot to refresh before we move on to learning new skills. We would also like to note that the instructors may have less time to share feedback with the parent or carer after the lessons while restrictions are in place. However, we do update your child’s progress chart after each session, so the best way to find out how they’re doing is to login to the Home Portal. You can do this by following the instructions included in your enrolment email.

5- Create unforgettable memories!

Talk about the teachers, try to remember their names (it is written on their swimming caps!) and encourage them to teach their dolls and toys to swim and float at home. You could also play some of our videos to your child to create a familiar environment. You can find them on our website, Facebook, Instagram and Youtube.

6- Practice the skills at home!

We have adapted some of the water safety and swimming skills that your child usually practices in the pool in our “Online Learning” videos. We will teach and demonstrate them with the aim for them to practice with us and for you to guide them at home so that they can refreshmaintain and improve these skills. You can find all our videos HERE.
